‘DR. GREENTHUMB SPRING GATHERING’
MUSIC FESTIVAL AND MEDICAL MARIJUANA EXPO
MAY 8TH AT THE NOS EVENTS CENTER
IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
EVENT TO FEATURE PERFORMANCES BY
METHOD MAN & REDMAN, KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, REBELUTION, FISHBONE AND HED PE AND SUPERNATURAL
TICKETS ON-SALE MARCH 20th

Guerilla Union has announced the first annual DR. GREENTHUMB’S SPRING GATHERING May 8 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. The event will launch as an epic cannabis culture experience encompassing a music festival and medical marijuana expo featuring METHOD MAN & REDMAN KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, plus performances by REBELUTION, FISHBONE, HED PE and SUPERNATURAL. B-Real of Cypress Hill is excited to get this event off the ground, “I am thrilled to have my own platform to promote medical marijuana and legalization. This event is just the beginning of many efforts that will support California’s budding medical marijuana industry.”

The inaugural DR. GREENTHUMB’S SPRING GATHERING will serve to create awareness around the cannabis counter-culture while highlighting world-class live music. This will be METHOD MAN & REDMAN’s first headlining festival performance on the west coast in 2010. Hip Hop’s dynamic stoner duo are the perfect ambassadors for the inaugural launch because they have been supporting the legalization of medical marijuana for nearly 20 years. Co-headliner KOTTONMOUTH KINGS are slated for an exclusive performance featuring songs from their new record Long Live the Kings, scheduled for an April 20th release. DR. GREENTHUMB’S SPRING GATHERING will also serve as the group’s official Southern California album release party. Santa Barbara’s Cali-Reggae juggernaut, Rebelution will make a rare Southern California festival appearance. Guerilla Union’s Chang Weisberg is proud to announce, “We really needed to develop this platform in the Spring. Now, we can have a year-round program (along with Cypress Hill’s SmokeOut in the Fall) that supports our medical marijuana efforts. Music is a powerful tool that will help spread our movement and help B-Real realize his medical marijuana and legalization dreams.”

In addition to the music portion, fans can experience the SPRING GATHERING Medical Marijuana Expo which includes the infamous V.I.P. (Very Important Pot smoker) private party and a glass art showcase. DR. GREENTHUMB AND B-REAL OF CYPRESS HILL will be hosting the day-long event. B-Real will be the keynote speaker of the expo where he will be sharing his opinions and expertise on California’s medical marijuana legislation. In addition, he will be performing material from his solo album SMOKE N MIRRORS. There will also be a wide range of guest speakers and celebrity appearances focused on cannabis education, legal workshops and grow tips, in addition to massive munchie gardens, vendor village and surprise performances. A full schedule of activities will be unveiled in the coming days.

Ticket pre-sale begins March 19th at 12noon for one day only. On-sale to the general public is scheduled for March 20th at 10am. Visit www.springgathering.com to sign up for a newsletter, up to date information, and festival updates.

Dirtball Joins The Kottonmouth Kings & Gets Initiated Into The Group By Tattooing A KMK Crown On His Chest

The Kottonmouth Kings have revealed the next era in their ongoing legacy by announcing the addition of the group’s newest member, the Dirtball. This notorious party monster has been a label mate of Kings for years, releasing a series of cult classic albums under the Suburban Noize banner and doing countless tours alongside the group. The group initiated the Oregon based rapper by having him get a KMK crown tattooed on his chest. The logo is a symbol of pride worn by not only the group, but it’s thousands of die-hard fans who have it tattooed all over their bodies.

“This is most definitely a huge step for me in the rap path,” commented Dirtball about joining the group. “I am honored to be joining such a strong force as the Kottonmouth Kings, and I’m proud to have found a band of brothers who not only have an endless array of talent, but they smoke just as much weed as I do.”

“Dirtball is really one of the sickest rappers in the game right now,” added Daddy X. “To have him join us on this musical journey is going to be amazing. The guy parties harder than Motley Crüe in their heyday and he manages to bring a mind-blowing velocity to everything he does. Please don’t give this guy’s number to Dr. Drew or we’re fucked!”

The planets have aligned perfectly for the release of the Kottonmouth Kings’ new studio album, “Long Live The Kings”, which coincides with the counterculture pot-smoking holiday observed each April 20th. The group will be celebrating the holiday and album release with a series of Smokeout Festivals with Cypress Hill in April.

Lou Dog Named Assistant Director Of NORML Los Angeles

Written on Nov 13, 2009 I News.
Lou Dog has been named the new assistant director for the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).

Stop Arresting Smokers

“I am proud of the appointment and I am prepared to continue lending my energy and resources towards the advancement of the cause,” commented Lou Dog.
The Kottonmouth Kings have been on the frontlines fighting for the legalization of marijuana for over a decade. The group has been acknowledged for their never-ending commitment to spreading awareness and understanding about the plant, marijuana.
The group had previously helped organize a demonstration at the U.S. Federal Building, alongside other pro-cannabis organizations, to protest the federal prosecution of pot users under the federal Controlled Substances Act. The event attracted national media attention and challenged the Bush Administration’s “War on Drugs”.
The Kottonmouth Kings recently released their new album, “Hidden Stash 4:20”, through Suburban Noize Records. The group is embarking on a series of dates with 311 in November, before they hit the studio to record their upcoming new studio effort, “Long Live The Kings”.
Since being founded in 1970, NORML has provided a voice for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers. A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly. Today NORML continues to lead the fight to reform state and federal marijuana laws, whether by voter initiative or through the elected legislatures. NORML serves as an informational resource to the national media on marijuana-related stories, providing a perspective to offset the anti-marijuana propaganda from the government.

Lou Dog of the Kottonmouth Kings joins B-Real of Cypress Hill and Tommy Chong at the Smokeout Festival in San Bernardino, CA on October 24th, 2009 for an Expert Discussion Panel.
